Financial Assistance
The Tuition Assistance Program provides a limited number of grants-in-aid to qualified students with serious financial need. Grants are awarded to eligible students to the extent that funds are available. Because of limited resources, the maximum grant awarded will be one half of total annual tuition. The award in a given year is based solely on information received in that year.
Assisting the school in determining financial need, the school administration uses the services of an external agency, Private School Aid Service (PSAS). After reviewing all of the applications received, PSAS provides the school administration information regarding the financial condition of applicants. The school administration then determines the eligibility of students to receive financial assistance.
Application for financial assistance is an annual process. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to request an application for tuition assistance, complete the application and mail it to PSAS. Only one application is required per family. PSAS charges a nominal fee for the application, which is also the responsibility of the parent/guardian. The school does not automatically send an application to a parent/guardian who may have received assistance in the past.
Criteria for Determining Eligibility for Financial Aid:
- Financial need as demonstrated in the required information submitted to PSAS. All information will be held in strict confidence.
- Prospective students must have taken the Entrance Examination and been notified of acceptance.
- Returning students must have satisfactory records of academics, discipline and attendance.
These records will be reviewed periodically and if found deficient, an adjustment in the amount of tuition assistance will be made.
Application Procedures
Parents or guardians should obtain a PSAS Student Aid Form from the Roselle Catholic General Office , or by downloading an application. Download Application (PDF)
You may also apply online at www.psas.org.
Return a completed application form along with (A) a signed copy of their 2011 IRS Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ; (B) copies of their 2011 W2 forms from all employers and/or privately owned business; (C) the processing fee.
Because processing time can be 3-6 weeks, and because grants are made on a first-come first-serve basis, it is important not to delay at any stage of the application process.
Scholarships
Roselle Catholic High School does not award athletic scholarships. The NJSIAA bans the awarding of athletic scholarships. Any student who otherwise claims runs the risk of forfeiting financial assistance.
