MARY LOUISE PUNSALAN (’19)—A Roselle resident, Mary Louise is an RC cheerleader and president of Filipino Club. Her list of extra-curricular activities includes Fashion Club, Senior Board, Campus Ministry and Festival of Lights Choir. Her favorite subject is anatomy. A National Honor Society member, she received First Honors for the first Marking Period. “I love learning about the human body and its functions,” Mary Louise said. “I love the Roselle Catholic community because everyone is very welcoming. I also love all the activities the school is offering.”
JAYLA LOWERY (’20)—Jayla’s favorite classes are part of Roselle Catholic’s Health Pro program, which provides students a grounding in the basics of the allied health fields. “I really enjoy the hands-on projects and labs,” Jayla said. “I love the feeling of getting to experience what it’s like to be a real health-care practitioner and learning about the medical field.” Jayla, a Linden resident, is a cheerleader and a member of Student Council and RC’s Campus Ministry and Marist Youth programs. Jayla made the Principal’s List, which includes students who achieved a grade of 90 or higher in every class. “I love being with my friends and my favorite teachers and I’m cherishing all of the memories,” she said.
JADA MAPP (’21)—An Honor Roll student, Jada participates in intramurals in The Lions’ Den and lists physical education as her favorite class. “Gym is a fun class and I’ve become very motivated to do even better,” she said. A Newark resident, Jada’s extra-curricular activities at RC have included Fashion Club, Photography Club and Gaming Club. Jada received First Honors recognition following the first marking period.
AMARIS JENKINS (’22)—Amaris played varsity soccer during the fall and is looking forward to being part of Roselle Catholic’s basketball program this winter. She’s also interested in the Drama Club. A North Plainfield resident, Amaris received First Honors following her first marking period at RC, and lists math as her favorite subject. “I like how you have the chance to meet and talk to new people every day here at Roselle Catholic,” Amaris said.

JOSHUA POLO (’19) – A National Honor Society member who received First Honors in the first marking period, Josh lists Health & Wellness as his favorite subject. “I want to study medicine,” Josh said. A Linden resident, Josh plays varsity soccer and also runs for the RC track team during the winter and spring seasons. He’s also played guitar and sung Christmas songs during Festival of Lights. “I like how all of the Roselle Catholic teachers really care about the students,” Josh said.
MATTHEW BURGOS (’20) – An Elizabeth resident, Matt is quite active outside the classroom at Roselle Catholic, as a member of the volleyball program, the Drama Club, Filipino Club and intramurals (both ping pong and volleyball). Art is Matt’s favorite subject. “It’s the most fun and relaxing class,” he said. “It also helps to put creative ideas onto paper.” Matt received First Honors for the first quarter. “I love being able to learn new things every day,” he said. “The Faculty here is amazing.”
SAMANTHA MORALES (’21) – Samantha’s favorite subject at RC is Western Civilization. “The class is super fun and interesting. I enjoy going to that class every day,” Samantha said. She’s a member of the Drama Club and plays intramural volleyball. Samantha, a Linden resident, earned First Honors for the first marking period. “I really enjoy my classmates,” she said, “because they’re all funny and pretty cool. Our class is a lot of fun.”
CHRISTOPHER SPASSIONE (’22) – Christopher is a member of Student Council and made the Honor Roll in his first marking period at Roselle Catholic. “Biology is quite interesting and one of my favorite classes,” Christopher said. “I enjoy learning here, going to after-school clubs and spending time with the faculty and my friends.” In his spare time, Christopher, a Union resident, enjoys playing video games and taking care of three fish tanks.
